Deadline near to attend “Blueprint for the Next Chapter” of the NV YMCA

(Atlantic, IA) ─ The deadline is this Wednesday, April 22nd at Noon, to reserve your place at a meeting April 29th in Atlantic, that will help to determine the direction of the The Nishna Valley YMCA. Community members, leaders, and YMCA supporters are being invited to take part in an upcoming community forum, “Blueprint for the Next Chapter,” focused on shaping the future of the organization and its growing impact. The event/community input session takes place April 29th at the Cass County Community Center (805 W. 10th St.), from 5:30-until 7:30-p.m. The meeting will be preceded by a dinner and social at 5-p.m.

YMCA Executive Director Dan Haynes said this won’t be the first time the Y has asked for input on its direction for the future.

The last input session garnered about 80 members of the public. Haynes said this time they’re hoping for 100-to 150-people in attendance.

Haynes said this is an opportunity for individuals to have a direct voice in shaping the programs, spaces, and services that will serve our community for years to come.”

There will be guest speakers, a question and answer session and interest groups established. Following the meeting on the 29th, the next step in the directional process is to establish a Focus Group. Those in attendance will be asked if they would be willing to be a part of that group.

Dinner will be provided by Downtowner Café & Catering, at no charge, and complimentary drinks will be available during the social hour. Again reservations are required by Noon on Wednesday, April 22nd. RSVP by emailing frontdesk@nishnavalleyymca.com. For more information, call Dan Haynes at 712-243-3934.

The Atlantic YMCA has existed in one form or another since 1890, back when it was called the Railroad YMCA.
