The Board approved also the allowance or dis-allowance of military, homestead, homestead 65 disabled veteran tax credit and exemptions, as recommended by Cass County Assessor Shana Platt.
Supervisors Board Chair Steve Baier asked is recent changes by the Iowa legislature are reflected in the latest information.
Platt pointed out the Homestead Tax Credit will no longer be a credit.
In other business, the Cass County Supervisors approved a 28E Agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation, for the FY26 Competitive Highway Bridge Program Grant Project, and a Letter of Resolution in support of the Joint CHBP Grant Project to be submitted by County Engineer Trent Wolken, as explained in a previous report on KJAN.
And, in his report to the Board, Trent Wolken (Cass Co.) Cass County Engineer Trent Wolken updated current Secondary Roads Department projects. He mentioned a box culvert project will begin Wednesday (July 22nd0 on Buck Creek Road at Dayton Road. The project could take up to six weeks to complete.
Wolken said they are also working patching in various roads throughout the county, and that crews are working on a bridge in the northwest corner of Marne, where there is erosion taking place underneath the bridge abutment.
