A two vehicle traffic accident in Audubon County on Sunday, October 25th resulted in the death of an area teenager. State troopers report 16 year old Tatum Eugene Christensen of Audubon was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Highway 71 south of 220th Street.
According to the state patrol report, the accident happened at 11:47 am Sunday. A Freightliner semi, operated by 46 year old Kenneth Lee Mohr of Audubon, was northbound on Highway 71 when it collided with the rear of a John Deere tractor pulling a trailer that was operated by Christensen, a sophomore at Audubon High School.
Troopers say Christensen was ejected from the tractor. Mohr was taken by Lifeflight helicopter to the University of Nebraska Medical Center with what were described as serious injuries.
