Atlantic Planning & Zoning Commission to act on 3 site plans Tuesday evening

(Atlantic, IA) – The City of Atlantic’s Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) is set to meet Tuesday (April 14th), to review, discuss and vote on three site plans. Their meeting in the Council’s Chambers at City Hall is begins at 5:30-p.m.

The first site plan the Commission will discuss and vote on, is with regard to a Commercial Building Addition Site Plan for Minor Detailing, at 605 W. 7th Street.

The proposed addition will be 50 feet by 45 feet or 2,250 square feet, located west of the existing building. A fence will be added on the west side. The Total area of proposed site is: 140’ x 100 feet; 0.32 Acres; 14,000 Square Feet.

The second site plan is with regard to the Atlantic Animal Health Center at 1502 SW 7thStreet. OPN Architects has submitted site plan for a commercial building for the Planning & Zoning Commission’s review. The construction site is located on SW 7th Street, immediately east of West 17th Street. The proposed building will be a T shape, 5,515 square feet.

And the third site plan pertains to a commercial building addition for Camblin Mechanical, located at 307 & 309 Chestnut Street. The proposed addition will be 30 feet by 25’4” feet or 760 square feet, located west of the existing building, in the “back yard.”

In other business, the P&Z will discuss an update on garages with living quarters. Under the City’s current code, garages with living quarters are banned, The Commission will also review and discuss a Stand-Alone garage concept.
