The Atlantic Fire Department is ready for another full week of activities to celebrate Fire Prevention and Safety Week. AFD Volunteer firefighter Jake Vetter says they’ll begin the week on Sunday, October 4 with the annual donation breakfast.
Local firefighters also make educational presentations to area school children.
The parade will begin on Saturday, October 10 at 6:00 pm in downtown Atlantic. Many fire departments and others will be there to support the effort. But, Vetter wanted to single out one group who shows up every year.
Vetter says the firefighters appreciate the support they receive locally.
Being a volunteer firefighter is not easy, but Vetter says it’s worth the sacrifice.
The donation breakfast will be held at the fire station and equipment will be available for the public to see.
