Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company contributed to $753 million economic impact in Iowa

Nationally, Coca-Cola system drives $85 billion economic impact, supports nearly 1 million jobs

DES MOINES, Iowa — A new report released today shows Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company
helped contribute $753 million to Iowa’s economy in 2025.
From humble beginnings with two facilities in 1909, Atlantic Bottling now operates 10 facilities
across five states, employs over 800 team members and delivers more than 17 million cases
annually.
“As one of Iowa’s longstanding employers and business partners, all of us at Atlantic Bottling are
incredibly proud to be the local face of the Coca-Cola system,” said Rob Feeney, Chief Executive
Officer of Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company. “Every bottle we produce, truck we drive, and
customer we serve supports Iowa families and businesses. We are proud to provide quality jobs,
partner with local businesses and invest in programs that make Iowa a stronger place to live, work
and raise a family.”
Helping to drive Iowa’s economic activity
Coca-Cola’s bottling partners in Iowa include Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Chesterman
Company, Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company, and Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling. In 2025, the four
bottlers combined drove:

  • $87 million in goods and services purchased from Iowa suppliers
  • 1,000 direct Coca-Cola system jobs in Iowa
  • $1 million invested in Iowa community programs
  • 8 additional Iowa jobs supported for each Coca-Cola system job
Atlantic Bottling has undergone significant transformation since Coca-Cola’s 2016 refranchising
initiative, which expanded the company’s distribution footprint and opened new avenues for
    growth.
Over the past three years, the company has invested more than $40 million to modernize its
production facility in Atlantic and reinvest in key infrastructure across all locations. Extensive
upgrades and renovations have significantly increased production capacity through expanded can
and bottle lines, enhanced automation, and the capability to produce up to 1 million canned
    beverages in an average day.
In 2026, the Atlantic facility received the Coca-Cola President’s Cup – an award given to the
producing bottler that exhibits the highest ratings across Quality, Safety and Environmental (QSE)
standards. Since 2022, Atlantic Bottling has ranked No. 1 among Coca-Cola’s producing bottlers,
which comprise bottlers nationwide that operate solo production plants.
    Giving back to our communities
Beyond its economic contributions, the company remains committed to giving back to Iowa
communities through charitable partnerships, volunteerism and sponsorships that support
education, youth development, health and wellness initiatives, community celebrations and
programs that improve quality of life.
Recent initiatives include sponsorships, donations, and brand partnerships with organizations
    throughout Iowa, including:
  • Variety – The Children’s Charity of Iowa
  • Children’s Therapy Center of the Quad Cities
  • Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa
  • Iowa High School Athletic Association
  • Bravo Greater Des Moines
  • Stead Family Children’s Hospital
  • Character Counts!
Coming up, Atlantic is proud to be a lead sponsor of Coca-Cola Days in Atlantic, Iowa, Sept. 25-26,
featuring a weekend full of nostalgia, food, live entertainment and family fun.
    Coca-Cola’s Nationwide Impact
The Coca-Cola system’s new U.S. Economic and Community Impact Report shows the system
contributed $85 billion to the economy in 2025. The nationwide results underscore how The CocaCola Company and its 61 independent bottling partners—including Atlantic Bottling—operate as a
powerful, interconnected engine of American economic growth.
Nationwide, the system supports 1 million jobs and purchased $37 billion in goods and services
from U.S. suppliers last year. The Coca-Cola system keeps 98 cents of every dollar spent on its
beverage products in the U.S. economy by sourcing, employing, producing, and distributing locally.
Over the next five years, The Coca-Cola system plans to invest $10 billion in U.S. infrastructure,
including new or expanded production, distribution, and office facilities.
The system’s collective impact also extends to community prosperity. In 2025, The Coca-Cola
system, The Coca-Cola Foundation, and The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation invested a combined
$177 million in community initiatives in the U.S., including $60 million in education and economic
    empowerment.
This commitment is currently coming to life through the Coca-Cola Future Careers (FC) Academy—
a digital platform delivered nationwide in partnership with organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs
of America to connect individuals with career exploration, skills development, and real-world
    employment pathways.
