The Southwest Field 4-H Table Setting Contest was held Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Cass County Community Center in Atlantic, Iowa.
The Table Setting Contest is a fun way to learn how to properly set a table, plan nutritious meals, express originality and creativity in choosing a theme, present to a judge, express knowledge of food, nutrition and food safety, and have fun in planning a special occasion meal for entertaining. Youth may choose to enter a casual or formal table setting exhibit.
A champion junior, intermediate, and senior level individual or team was selected from each of the local counties across the Southwest Iowa field in the two categories of casual and formal and given the opportunity to represent the county at the Southwest Field Table Setting Contest. Participating 4-H members included 4th-12th graders from Adair, Carroll, Cass, Clarke, Fremont, Guthrie, Harrison, Mills, Montgomery, Page, East Pottawattamie, West Pottawattamie, Shelby, and Union.
