(Atlantic, IA) – The Atlantic Police Department reports two men from Polk County were arrested in connection with a burglary that occurred late last (Wednesday) night. Officers with the A-PD responded to a commercial burglary alarm at Nishna Valley Cycle (2500 E. 7th St.), at around 11:35-p.m.
Upon officers’ arrival three individuals fled the scene. Two subjects were later apprehended with the assistance of Cass County Sheriff’s deputies and Iowa State Patrol. The two suspects were identified as 21-year-old Omarion Oliver and 18-year-old Deshaun Long, Jr., both of Des Moines.
Oliver faces charges that include: Dominion in Control of a Firearm by a Felon; Burglary 3rd Degree; Possession of a Controlled Substance- 2nd Offense, and Theft in the 4th Degree.
Long was charged with Burglary in the 3rd Degree. A third suspect has been identified, but not yet apprehended, according to the latest information from Atlantic Police.
The investigation is on-going and no other details will be released at this time.
