(Radio Iowa) – Iowa Libertarians will meet Wednesday to nominate two new candidates for the November General Election, replacing candidates judges ruled did not qualify for the ballot. Those decisions upheld a State Objection Panel finding that the Libertarian’s lieutenant governor nominee Jules Cutler did not provide an affidavit of candidacy and the party’s third congressional district candidate was not qualified to run because he used a stage name and not his legal name. Stephanie Berlin is chair of the Libertarian Party of Iowa.
The Iowa Libertarian Party’s Board had originally planned to choose replacement candidates last (Sunday) night, but they instead adopted the protocol they’ll use Wednesday to make those decisions.
