Iowa homes sales up 13.2% in June compared to May

(Radio Iowa) – The pace of home sales in Iowa has accelerated this summer. The Iowa Realtors Association’s latest data shows a more than 13 percent increase in the number of home sale closings in June compared to May — and a year-over-year increase of 11-and-a-half percent when compared to June of 2025. The median price for a home sold in June was 265-thousand dollars — about six percent higher than May.

The president of the Iowa Realtors Association says there’s a healthy balance of inventory and buyer activity in Iowa’s housing market — creating opportunities for both buyers and sellers. Just over nine-thousand homes were on the market last month — a nearly eight-and-a-half percent increase from a year ago.
