Iowa Craft Breweries Earn Medals in Two International Competitions

(Philadelphia, PA) -Iowa craft breweries were awarded nine medals in two international beer competitions on April 22nd, highlighting the incredible quality of craft beer in the state. The World Beer Cup presented by the Brewers Association® and the Best of Craft Beer Awards recognize the international brewing elite and celebrating producer craftsmanship.

The 2026 World Beer Cup in Philadelphia included 8,166 entries from 1,644 breweries across 50 countries. The Best of Craft Beer Awards in Oregon is the fastest growing international beer competition and judged beer quality across 51 categories. Iowa craft breweries brought home multiple medals from both competitions.

The following World Beer Cup medals were awarded to Iowa breweries:

  • Lion Bridge Brewing Co., Cedar Rapids: Olde 17, Classic Irish-Style Dry Stout, Gold Medal
  • Lion Bridge Brewing Co, Cedar Rapids: Compensation, English Mild or Bitter, Bronze Medal
  • Field Day Brewing, North Liberty: Czech Amber, International Amber Lager, Bronze Medal
  • Big Grove Brewery, Iowa City: Zero Eddy, Hoppy Non-Alcohol Beer, Silver Medal

  • Marto Brewing, Sioux City: Fear of the Dark, Cascadian Dark Ale, Silver Medal

  • Full Fledged Brewing, Council Bluffs: Floyd the Barbarian, Hop Forward Session Beers, Bronze Medal
  • Full Fledge Brewing, Council Bluffs: Common Corn Star, Rare & Historical Beers, Bronze Medal
