(Council Bluffs, IA) – Officials with the Council Bluffs Fire Department, Tuesday afternoon (Aug, 4th), issued a statement with regard to an injury accident that occurred at the Google South site, Monday evening. In their report, authorities said Council Bluffs Fire and Police, the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Department, and Iowa State Patrol responded at around 5:08 p.m. to an unknown injury at 10410 Bungee Avenue in Council Bluffs, after a 911 caller indicated a contracted worker had been injured, and was trapped.
The first responding units arrived within eight minutes of the call, and with information from the caller, determined the victim’s location on the site, after some initial confusion, whereby front gate security were not aware of the accident.
The worker was extracted from the scene of entrapment within 10 minutes of crews arriving. He was treated at the and stabilized by emergency personnel, before being transported by ambulance to a waiting medical helicopter at a nearby landing zone. LifeNet helicopter flew the patient to Nebraska Medicine Trauma Center in Omaha, for additional treatment and care.
Additional information concerning the patient is not being released by authorities.
