(Harlan, IA) – Our sister station KNOD in Harlan reports a fire consumed most of a home early Tuesday morning, but no one was hurt. The Harlan Fire Department was dispatched a little after 12-a.m. Tuesday, to a working house fire on 2nd Street, in Harlan. On scene, found the front of the house fully involved. Westphalia Fire, Portsmouth fire, Avoca fire was also dispatched for mutual aid. The house was considered a total loss. The Shelby County Sheriff’s office, Shelby County Ambulance service and Shelby County EMA assisted in handling the incident.
