(Harlan, IA) – A collision Sunday afternoon in Shelby County between a motorcycle and a small SUV, resulted in the death of the motorcycle rider/operator. The Iowa State Patrol reports a 2017 Chevy Equinox driven by 38-year-old Miranda Von Ahsen, of Westphalia, was traveling north on Highway 59 at around 2:50-p.m., and preparing to turn west into Shelby County Road F-32.
A 1975 Norton motorcycle, operated by 63-year-old Francis Rueschenberg, of Westphalia, was traveling south om Highway 59, when the collision occurred at the intersection of the two roads.
Francis Rueschenberg was transported to Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, where he died from his injuries. Von Ahsen was not hurt..
