(Essex, IA) – The Iowa State Patrol late Sunday night, released information about a fatal accident that occurred Saturday night in southwest Iowa. Authorities say a woman who was struck by an SUV died from her injuries. The accident happened north of Essex at around 9:55 p.m.
The Patrol says the Page County Sheriff’s Office requested the ISP’s assistance in reference to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident that took place on D Avenue, about 2,300-feet south of 130th Street. An investigation determined a 2014 Toyota Venza SUV driven by 28-year-old Elyzabeth Henry, of Essex, had struck a person walking near or on the roadway.
The pedestrian was identified as Roselyn Robbin Stark, who died at the scene. The incident remained under investigation. No other information was released.
