A group in northeast Iowa is hosting an event tonight (Tuesday) in Manchester titled Drinking Water 101: The Journey of Water in Iowa From the Field to Your Faucet.” Carol Sherman is a member of the Women, Land and Legacy of Delaware and Dubuque Counties, the group hosting the group.
Tonight’s (Tuesday’s) event isn’t just for women, though, and Sherman says anyone who is interested in the topic is welcome.
The new coordinator for the Maquoketa River Watershed Management Authority will be a featured speaker.
The Maquoketa River Watershed covers over one-point-one MILLION acres in eastern and northeast Iowa — with the Maquoketa River draining into the Mississippi just north of Clinton. Tonight’s (Tuesday’s) program begins at 6 p.m. at the Delaware County Fairgrounds Community Center. There are 19 other Women, Land and Legacy groups in Iowa. The organization was founded in 2004 and focuses on planning small group conversations about topics like estate planning or soil health.
