(Sioux County, IA) – Two men from northwest Iowa died during a crash early this (Thursday) morning, in Sioux County. The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 5:40 a.m. on Highway 10 near Hickory Avenue, when a car attempted to pass a semi on westbound Highway 10, and collided head-on with an eastbound vehicle.
The drivers of the cars, identified as 19-year-old Lazaro Misael Martin-Martin, of Orange City, and 53-year-old Jeffrey Lee Lahr, of Westfield, died at the scene. The car driven by Martin became fully engulfed in flames during the crash.
The driver of the semi was not hurt.
