(Mount Ayr, IA) – The Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office, Sunday, said search/rescue crews had recovered the body from a lake, of a man missing since late Saturday morning. Members of the Midwest Regional Dive Team, including the Ringgold Community Water Emergency Team, searched Sun Valley Lake and the surrounding area in northeastern Ringgold County, late Saturday afternoon, for a man last seen at the lake at around 7-a.m., Saturday. 70-year-old Ronald Brown, of West Des Moines, was reported missing at around 10:50-a.m., Saturday.
On Sunday (June 7th), search/dive teams resumed their search of Sun Valley Lake at around 9:15-a.m., and at 11:20-a.m., recovered Brown’s body.
In a statement on social media, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office extended its sincere appreciation to all agencies and individuals who assisted in the search and recovery efforts, including: The Midwest Regional Dive Team; Iowa State Patrol; Ringgold County Hospital; Iowa DNR; Sun Valley Lake Patrol, and the Mount Ayr Fire Department.
They extended a special “Thank you” to the Mount Ayr Embers for generously providing food and water to first responders and search personnel throughout the [search/rescue] operation.
