Denison Woman Killed, Two Seriously Injured in Highway 30 Crash

(Ralston, IA) A 75-year-old Denison woman was killed and two other people suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 30 and 210th Street north of Ralston.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Marcia Lucile Bachmann of Denison was driving a 2018 Toyota Prius southeast on Highway 30 when the crash occurred.

Investigators say a 2019 Ford Escape driven by 27-year-old Frizabel Anwi Waki of Lincoln, Nebraska, was traveling west on 210th Street and pulled away from a stop sign at the intersection. The Ford was then struck by Bachmann’s Toyota.

Bachmann was pronounced dead at the scene. The State Patrol report indicates she was wearing a seat belt.

Waki and a passenger in the Ford, 27-year-old Mbachokieng Claudine Ngum of West Des Moines, were both seriously injured. Waki was transported by Life Flight to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, while Ngum was taken to the same hospital by Carroll EMS.

The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol
