Deadly collision in NW Iowa Tuesday morning

(Clay County, IA) – One person died following a collision Tuesday morning between a car and a semi. The Iowa State Patrol reports the accident happened at around 9:45-a.m. east of Spencer. Authorities say a car driven by 69-year-old Mone Keoninh, of Ruthven, was traveling north on Clay County Road M-50, when it turned left onto 340th Street, in front of a southbound Peterbilt semi driven by 42-year-old Kevin Hofman, of Sanborn.

Following the collision, Keoninh was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Spencer, where he died from his injuries. The driver of the semi was not hurt.
