Chuckwagon Days in Adair means you find food, fun and entertainment

(Adair, IA) – The community of Adair, with its bright yellow, smiling face water tower, will be the scene for food, fun and entertainment beginning Friday (June 19th) and continuing through Saturday (June 20th). The town is celebrating “Chuckwagon Days,” as part of the lead-in to Paving the Way: Celebrating America’s 250 Years of Progress.

The Adair Chamber of Commerce is helping to make the event possible. Chamber President Cindy Grubbs says Chuckwagon Days is one of two events they sponsor each year, the other is Halloween. She says the activities really begin in earnest Friday afternoon.

Proceeds from the Adair Fire and Rescue Volunteer Fire Dept. BBQ at the Adair Community Building benefit the Fire/Rescue Department, in purchasing new, needed equipment. The Little Miss and Mister Adair winners will be announced at 6-p.m., Friday. A bags tournament gets underway at 7-p.m., and there are DJ and Foam Parties for kids and adults, with the kids party at 7:15-p.m., and adults at 9:15-p.m.

Saturday’s Chuckwagon Days activities begin with a Lions Club pancake breakfast from 7-until 9:30-a.m., and a 5k race at 7:30 (w/Registration is at 7-a.m.). The 5k will be followed at 8-a.m. By the Mile Race, and Kids Races at 8:30-a.m.

Other, afternoon events include: A Pickle ball Tournament; Lions Club Snack Shack; Vendor Market with Music by Jenna Nevins; Women’s Club Bingo; Carnival Rides – Balloon Guy and Inflatables; Fire Truck Rides from 1-to 3-p.m., from the Adair Community Building; A Scavenger Hunt, and another round of great barbecue food, this time from Rocket Fuel BBQ on Audubon Street, in Adair.
