(Coon Rapids, IA) – Authorities in western Iowa say a young child was seriously injured after being run over by a vehicle at around 8 p.m. Monday, in Coon Rapids. Reports stated numerous emergency responders and law enforcement were called to the scene in the 10 block of State Street, with initial reports from the Coon Rapids Police Department stating a toddler sustained life-threatening head trauma.
Prior to the arrival of emergency responders, reports say family members administered CPR to the child until first responders were on the scene. The child was flown to Children’s Nebraska in Omaha for treatment.
