(Atlantic, IA) – The Cass County Board of Supervisors during their regular meeting today (Tuesday, May 5th), approved Board Chair Steve Baier signing a proclamation recognizing May as Mental Health Awareness Month in Cass County. The proclamation was read by a representative of the Cass County Coalition for Mental Wellness. Here’s a portion of the proclamation….
The Board then received a presentation from representatives of the Iowa Bar Association, in recognition of National Law Day of Action, commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the United States. Attorney J.C. Van Ginkel said the day was established by proclamation in January 1958 by President Eisenhower.

And, they agreed to TABLE setting the dates and times for public hearings on a zoning reclassification change for John Topham, from General Agriculture to Heavy Industrial, for a parcel of land located at 58708 Yankton Road (southeast of Griswold, in Pleasant Township). The Board wanted to see if Topham would be agreeable to a change to Light Industrial instead, for the purposes of keeping his repair shop, but not a salvage yard.
