(Guthrie Center, IA) – The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office reports a 17-year-old female from Carroll was cited for Failure to Maintain Control and Leaving the scene of a property damage accident, following an accident that occurred at around 2-a.m. on May 27th. Authorities say a 203 Dodge Avenger was traveling north on Chesnut Road, when according to the driver, she swerved to miss a deer in the roadway before entering a ditch.
The teen complained of pain and possible injury, but was not transported to a hospital. The report said the driver failed to give information on who the other occupant in her vehicle was. The car sustained an estimated $10,000 damage and was declared a total loss.
