There are thousands of paid campaign staff and volunteers who are spending this day trying to get more Iowans to vote. Jimmy Centers has worked on presidential, congressional, gubernatorial and legislative campaigns in Iowa for Republicans.
The focus until the polls close is to get Iowans who’ve been identified as supporters to vote at their local precinct.
Jeff Link has worked for Democrats running for president, the U-S Senate, for governor and other offices in Iowa. He says calling and knocking on the doors of prospective voters today is important.
Link saw the impact first hand 26 years ago when he was the State Director of Al Gore’s presidential campaign.
Link predicts there will be some close races up and down the ballot again this year — and some recounts. Neither Link or Centers, by the way, are working for campaigns this year.
