Arrests made in Council Bluffs shooting incident

(Council Bluffs, IA) – Officials with the Council Bluffs Police Department, late Tuesday, reported two people were arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred Monday night in the 600 block of Damon Street. A juvenile male was shot in the leg and taken to Children’s Hospital in Omaha where he is receiving treatment for a non-life threatening injury.

Tuesday morning, investigators applied for and were granted an arrest warrant charging 19-year-old Jeremiah Lassissi with one count of Attempted Murder, three counts of Robbery in the 1st Degree and one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. An additional arrest warrant was issued charging 20-year-old Trent Hastings with one count of Attempted Murder and three counts of Robbery in the 1st Degree. Both are residents of Council Bluffs.

At approximately 3:30-pm Tuesday, members of the Omaha Metro Area Fugitive Task Force located Lassissi and Hastings at a residence near 31st Avenue and Dodge Street in Omaha. They were taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Douglas County Jail where they will await extradition to Iowa.
