An adult and teen died in an eastern IA crash Thu. evening

IOWA COUNTY, Iowa – A 33-year-old from Amana and a 14-year-old from North Liberty were killed in a crash in eastern Iowa’s Iowa County just before 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

According to Iowa State Patrol, a Kenworth construction vehicle was headed south on Highway 151 when a Ford Escape headed westbound on 110th Street, failed to stop at a stop sign and the two vehicles collided. Both vehicles came to rest in the southwest ditch.

The 33-year-old who died was the driver of the Escape. Both the driver of the SUV and the 14-year-old passenger were wearing their seat belts. The driver of the Kenworth, 41-year-old Roger Lindsey, of Marengo, was not injured.

The intersection was closed for nearly four hours as crews responded to the scene. As of the latest information, authorities had not yet released the identities of those who died in the crash.
