Adams County man faces Theft charges following a pursuit in Union County

(Corning, IA) – A man from Corning was arrested last week on Theft charges, following an incident in Union County. According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at around 12:55-p.m. April 21st, Adams County Dispatch received a report of a vehicle stolen from near 1411 Nodaway Street.

Upon further investigation, the vehicle was located traveling near Creston. The driver, 29-year-old Keegan Wayne Williams, of Corning, was taken into custody by Creston Police Department and Union County Sheriff’s Deputies after a short pursuit.

Williams was charged in Adams County with Theft 2nd Degree (a Class D Felony), and 2nd Degree Theft against an Older Individual – motor vehicle not exceeding $10,000 in value ( a Class C Felony). He was transported to the Adams County Jail and held on a $15,000 cash or surety bond. His preliminary hearing was set for May 1st.
