Adair County Sheriff’s report, 6/15/26

(Greenfield, IA) – The Adair County Sheriff’s Office reports five recent arrests, two of which have already been mentioned in our news on-air and online. Sheriff Jeff Vandewater reports 53-year-old James E. True, of Chicago, IL, was arrested last Wednesday, June 10th, by Stuart Police. True was arrested in the parking lot of the Stuart Casey’s store, following an investigation into an incident that allegedly occurred prior to the Officer’s arrival. True was subsequently taken into custody for Harassment in the 1st Degree (Threats) and Domestic Abuse Assault causing bodily injury. He was transported to the Adair County Jail in Greenfield and released Friday afternoon on a $2,000 bond.

30-year-old Brandon Dean Thiesse, of West Des Moines, was arrested June 10th at the Maverick store in Stuart, following a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration tags, and dark window tint below the legal limit in Iowa. He was taken into custody for Driving While License Revoked for OWI, with three withdrawals in effect. Thiesse was also cited for Operating without a registration card, and issued other warnings for the aforementioned violations. He was released from the scene with his respective citations.

As mentioned previously, 30-year-old Gifty Gilman, of Stuart, was arrested by Stuart Police on June 10th, on a warrant for Child Endangerment resulting in death. She was being held in the Adair County Jail on a $150,000 cash-only bond.

26-year-old Dustin J. Elliott, of Greenfield, was arrested June 11th in Greenfield, for Violation of a No Contact Order out of Polk County. He was released the next day on his Own Recognizance.

And, as we’ve mentioned previously, 45-year-old Jeremiah Ray Janes, of Indianola, was arrested by Stuart Police Friday night, following a pursuit. Janes was charged with Eluding and Reckless Driving. He was released the following day on a $5,000 bond.
