(Greenfield, IA) – The Adair County Sheriff’s Office said late Monday evening, a man from Fontanelle was being held in the Adair County Jail on a dozen felony charges stemming from incidents that took place April 11th and 14th. 34-year-old Dalton James Cormeny was arrested April 29th on an Adair County warrant charging him with:
- 3 counts of Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury
- 2 counts of Dominion or Control of a Firearm/Offensive Weapon by a Felon
- 4 counts of Dominion or Control of a Firearm/Offensive Weapon by a Domestic Abuse Offender
- and 1 count each of: Harassment in the 1st Degree (Threats); False Imprisonment; and Assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.
A preliminary hearing on his charges was set for May 11th. The Adair County Sheriff’s Office reports also, Police in Greenfield arrested 55-year-old Robert Charles Hughes, of Greenfield, on an Adair County warrant for Sex Offender Registry Violation by Area or Activity, after he and his vehicle were seen April 14th on the grounds of the Nodaway Valley Elementary School. Hughes admitted to being on school property to drop-off his daughter. He was being held in the Adair County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond until released on April 29th.
Two people were arrested following a traffic stop on Interstate 80 at mile marker 92 near Stuart on May 2nd. Stuart Police took 27-year-old Julianna Lorene Riggins, of Yelm, WA, into custody at around 12:20-p.m., for: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Possession of a Controlled Substance – 3rd or subsequent offense; PCS – Marijuana/1st offense, and on two-counts of Child Endangerment. 36-year-old Coba Palmer, Jr., of Chicago, IL, was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Possession of a Controlled Substance – 3rd or subsequent offense; PCS – Marijuana/1st offense, and on two-counts of Child Endangerment, plus a charge of Unlawful Possession of a Prescription Drug. Riggins and Palmer were being held in the Adair County Jail on $5,000 bond, each.
And, Adair County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 41-year-old Derik Wayne Bud Pickrell, of Fontanelle, on April 28th, for Violation of a No Contact Order. He was later released on a $300 cash-only bond.
