Accident in Red Oak causes an estimated $6k damage, but no injuries

(Red Oak, IA) – A collision in Red Oak this (Saturday) morning, caused a police-estimated $6,000 damage altogether, but no one was injured.

According to Red Oak Police, the accident happened at around 9:15-a.m. in the 500 block of N. 3rd Street. Authorities say a 2013 GMC Yukon (SUV) driven by 29-year-old Kaiyla Aldrich, and a 2012 Nissan Titan pickup driven by 27-year-old Michael Hamilton, both of Red Oak, were traveling south on N. 3rd Street.

Aldrich stopped to let a non-contact vehicle back out of a parking spot. Police say Hamilton didn’t see the Yukon had stopped. His pickup struck the rear of the SUV. Red Oak Police cited Hamilton for Failing to Stop in an Assured Clear Distance.
