3 injured in a SE Iowa UTV accident

(West Point, IA) – Three board on-board a UTV were injured Saturday night in southeast Iowa’s Lee County. The Iowa State Patrol reports a 2015 Polaris Ranger UTV operated by 33-year-old Colton A. Hurt, of West Point, entered the intersection of Saint Paul Road and 228th Avenue at around 8-p.m., before the machine went out of control and rolled over.

Three passengers in the UTV were injured. 40-year-old Scott Grelk, of Donnellson, was flown from the scene by helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospital. Two others, 35-year-old Joshua Miller, of Burlington, and 35-year-old Andrew Bowers, of West Point, were injured, but not transported to a hospital.

The accident remained under investigation. The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office & EMS, West Point Rescue, and Air Evac.
