(Honey Creek, IA) – A man from Kansas and a woman from Oklahoma died during the crash of a semi tractor-trailer early Wednesday morning, in western Pottawattamie County. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2024 Kenworth semi was traveling north on Interstate 29 near the Honey Creek Exit (mile marker 66), when for reasons unknown, the rig left the road and traveled through cable barriers and entered the median.
The semi then struck a support column for the Rosewood Road bridge before coming to rest. The driver, 64-year-old Charles Leroy Grandpre, of Salina, KS, and his passenger, 49-year-old Angela Dawn Blackwood, of Broken Bow, OK, died in the crash.
The accident happened at around 6:24 a.m., Wednesday.
