(Marshall County, IA) – Two people on a motorcycle died during a crash Sunday night just east of Rhodes, in Marshall County. The Iowa State Patrol reports a 2023 Harley Davidson motorcycle occupied by the operator, 31-year-old Brandon Overman, and his passenger, 27-year-old Chandler Kendall, both of Rhodes, was traveling east on 295th Street at around 9:25 p.m., and attempting to pass a vehicle in a marked, No Passing zone.
The cycle failed to negotiate the curve and went out of control before it slid into a ditch and vaulted into air. Both occupants were ejected. Brandon Overman died at the scene. Chandler Kendall was flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital, and pronounced deceased.
The crash remained under investigation.
