3 injured in a Montgomery County crash Saturday evening

(Red Oak, IA) – A collision between a Ford and a Chevy pickup truck Saturday evening in Montgomery County resulted in the drivers of both vehicles and a passenger being sent to the hospital. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened at around 6:46-p.m. at Highway 34 and P Avenue.

Authorities say a 2013 Ford F-250 pickup driven by Blake McCann, of Glenwood, was traveling north on P Avenue, and failed to stop at the intersection with Highway 34. The pickup struck a 2012 Chevy K-2500 pickup that was traveling eastbound, and driven by Michael Knox, of Lenox. Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.

The Sheriff’s Office says McCann was flown by helicopter to the UNMC in Omaha. Knox was transported to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital by ambulance. His passenger – whose name was not released -was transported to Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, by helicopter

The accident remains under investigation.
