(Jackson County, IA) – An 18-year-old from Clinton (IA) died Friday afternoon following a crash near Miles, just east of Maquoketa. The Iowa State Patrol reports the driver of a 2008 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on 17th Street at around 3-p.m., Friday, when the car went out of control at 484th Avenue.
The vehicle left the roadway, struck agricultural equipment and hit a building before coming to rest inside the building. The driver – who was wearing a seat belt – was transported to the Jackson County Regional Hospital, where they died from their injuries.
The driver’s name had not been released as of early Saturday morning, and pending notification of family.
