1 person injured a Red Oak collision May 1st

(Red Oak, IA) – A passenger in a vehicle that was struck Friday morning in Red Oak, complained of pain and was transported by Red Oak EMS to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. According to the Red Oak Police Department, 18-year-old Taylor Lee Ann Comstock, of Ann Arbor, MI, was injured in the collision that happened at around 10-a.m. in the 300 block E. Reed Street, near Fountain Square Park.

Authorities say a pickup truck driven by 56-year-old Shane Michael Harrison, of Griswold, was backing out of a parking stall, and failed to see a Ford Mustang that was behind him, traveling west on E. Reed Street. When the pickup hit the car, it caused significant damage, police said.

The driver of the car, 18-year-old Ethan Allan Hummel, of Red Oak, complained of pain but did not need rescue. Police issued a written warning to Harrison for Unsafe Backing. Damage from the collision amounted to $10,500.
