1 dead, 2 injured in a northern Iowa crash

(Kossuth County, IA) – One person died and two others were injured during a crash Monday morning, west of Algona. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2014 Peterbilt semi driven by 40-year-old Teddy Kutsch, of Brule, NE, was southbound on 90th Avenue at around 10:30-a.m., when Kutsch failed to stop at the intersection with 210th Street.

The semi struck an eastbound 2022 Chevy Equinox, driven by 47-year-old Carolee Wise, of Emmetsburg. Wise died at the scene. Her passenger, 76-year-old Bernadette Wise, also of Emmetsburg, along with the driver of the semi, were injured and transported by Algona EMS to the Kossuth County Regional Health Center.

The crash remains under investigation.
