Page County Attorney’s report on court case outcomes for the week of March 9th (2026)

Page County Attorney, James L. Varley, reports the following activities in the Iowa District Court for Page County for the week of March 9, 2026. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

David Anthony Daugherty, age 55, Shenandoah, Iowa appeared by counsel and pled guilty to Driving While Barred. The defendant was sentenced to 4 days in jail, receiving credit for time served and fined $855. Defendant was ordered to pay court costs, surcharges, and court-appointed attorney fees.

Jayden Scott Fastenau, age 18, Clarinda, Iowa, appeared by counsel and pled guilty to Operating While Under the Influence-First Offense. Defendant was sentenced to 2 days of incarceration and fined $1,250. Defendant has completed the Drinking Driver’s School satisfying the term of incarceration. Court costs, surcharges and court-appointed attorney fees were assessed.

Lanee Joe Harmsen, age 22, Clarinda, Iowa, appeared by counsel and pled guilty to Operating While Intoxicated-First Offense. The defendant was sentenced to 20 days in jail, with all but 2 days suspended and placed on probation for 1 year. As a condition of probation, the defendant must attend and successfully complete the Drinking Driver’s School and obtain a drug/alcohol evaluation and follow through with any recommendations. Defendant was ordered to pay a fine of $1,250 and surcharges.

Mark Larson, age 55, Clarinda, Iowa, appeared by counsel and pled guilty to Operating While Under the Influence-First Offense. The defendant was sentenced to 2 days of incarceration and fined $1,250. In lieu of the two days of incarceration, the defendant was allowed to complete the Drinking Driver’s School. The defendant was ordered to pay court costs and surcharges.

Chris Edward Long, age 44, College Springs, Iowa, appeared by counsel and pled guilty to Forgery. The defendant was granted a deferred judgment and was placed on probation for 2 years. Defendant was ordered to pay court costs, court-appointed attorney fees and a civil penalty of $855.

Molly Ann Oglesbee, age 26, Corning, Iowa, appeared by counsel and pled guilty to Possession of Marijuana-First Offense. The Defendant was fined $430 and ordered to pay court costs, surcharges and court-appointed attorney fees.

Marquavion Treshawn Robinson, age 19, Fort Madison, Iowa, appeared by counsel and pled guilty to Count I: Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations-Bodily Injury; and Count II: Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations. The Court entered judgment as follows: Count I: 5 years of incarceration and a fine of $1,025, Count II: 2 years of incarceration and a fine of $855. The fines were suspended and the terms of incarceration will run concurrently with each other. This sentence will run consecutive to the prison term that is presently being served by the defendant. The defendant was ordered to pay court costs and court-appointed attorney fees.

Jason Lee Sarabia, Jr, age 28, Clarinda, Iowa, appeared by counsel and pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Normal Breathing or Blood Circulation. Defendant was sentenced to 2 years of incarceration and fined $855. The term of incarceration and fine were suspended and the defendant was placed on probation for 1 year. As a condition of probation, the defendant is to reside at the Residential Correctional Facility until maximum benefits are achieved and complete the Iowa Domestic Abuse Program. The defendant was ordered to pay court costs, surcharges and court-appointed attorney fees.

Jason Lee Sarabia, Jr, age 28, Clarinda, Iowa, appeared by counsel and pled guilty to Assault with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury. Defendant was sentenced to 2 years of incarceration-suspended and placed on probation for 1 year. As a condition of probation, the defendant is to reside at the Residential Correctional Facility until maximum benefits are achieved. A fine of $855 was imposed and suspended and the defendant was ordered to pay court costs, surcharges and court-appointed attorney fees.

Todd Allen Strange, age 52, Stanton, Iowa appeared by counsel and pled guilty to Operating While Under the Influence-1st Offense. The defendant was sentenced to 2 days in jail and was given credit for 2 days towards the jail sentence for completing the Drinking Driver’s Program. A fine of $1,250 was imposed and the defendant was ordered to pay court costs, surcharges and court-appointed attorney fees.

Neal Jay Williams, age 54, Shenandoah, Iowa, appeared by counsel and pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance-Second Offense. Defendant was sentenced to 2 years of incarceration and fined $855. The term of incarceration and fine were suspended and the defendant was placed on probation for 1 year. The defendant is to obtain a drug/alcohol evaluation and follow through with any recommendations as a condition of probation. Defendant was ordered to pay court costs and court-appointed attorney fees.

Neal Jay Williams, age 54, Shenandoah, Iowa, appeared by counsel and pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance-Second Offense. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years of incarceration and placed on probation for 1 year which will run concurrently with the previous case. As a condition of probation, the defendant is to obtain a drug/alcohol evaluation and follow through with any recommendations. Defendant was ordered to pay a fine of $855-suspended, court costs and court-appointed attorney fees.
