(Atlantic, IA) – Cass County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Kennon, Monday, said Iowa’s annual statewide tornado drill will take place on Wednesday, March 26, beginning at 10 a.m. as part of the weekly NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association) Weather Radio test.
Kennon says that outdoor warning sirens throughout Cass County will sound as part of the drill. County residents who are signed up for local emergency alerts will also receive text and/or phone notifications.
Kennon said the event is a good way to test the system and give people a chance to better prepare for severe weather. More information about severe weather and family safety can be found at: www.BeReadyIowa.org and www.weather.gov/desmoines.
