Mrs. KATE (LEONARD) GETTY, 50, PhD, of Cedar Rapids (an Atlantic native), died Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at her home in Cedar Rapids. A Mass of Christian Burial for KATE GETTY will be held 10:30-a.m. Tue., March 24th, at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic. Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic has the arrangements.
Public visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m., with the Family present from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic.
Burial is in the SS Peter & Paul Cemetery. A luncheon will be held following the committal in the SS Peter & Paul Parish Center.
