Father LEONARD ANTHONY KENKEL, 91, of Harlan, died Feb. 7, 2026, at the Elm Crest Retirement Community in Harlan. A Mass of Christian Burial for Fr. LEONARD KENKEL will be held 10:30-a.m. Tue., Feb. 17th, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Panama (IA). Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan has the arrangements.

Visitation at St. Mary’s is on Mon., Feb. 16th, from 5-until 7-p.m., followed by a Wake service at 7-p.m.

Burial is in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Panama.

His sister – Sylvia Kenkel (OSB), of Atchison, KS;

His brothers – Damian Kenkel, David Kenkel, and Eugene (Patricia) Kenkel, all of Panama.

His sisters-in-law Patricia Kenkel of Burr Ridge, IL, and Joyce Kenkel of Panama; and many other relatives.
