The Harlan Cyclones completed a suspended game win 8-6 over Atlantic on Thursday night and then took advantage of some Trojan mistakes in the regularly scheduled game to follow to win 14-4 in 6 innings.

Atlantic scored 4 runs in the 7th inning of the first game and seemed to carry a bit of that momentum into the second game, scoring two runs in the first on a double by Wyatt Redinbaugh. Harlan answered back though with two runs of their own on a Alex Monson double in the bottom of the first. The game stayed 2-2 until Harlan jumped ahead with 2 runs in the 3rd and 1 in the 4th. Atlantic got back within one in the top of the 5th with an RBI ground-out from Garrett McLaren and an RBI single from Redinbaugh. After that the tide turned in favor of Harlan.

The Cyclones piled on 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth taking advantage of a host of Trojan mistakes. Atlantic had an errant throw and wild pitch cost them two runs. There was also a dropped strikeout that let a Cyclone runner get aboard and a hit batter in the frame. Stephen Leinen delivered the big hit of the inning for the Cyclones with a two-run homer to left field that put the Cyclones up by three. The Cyclones piled on four more runs in the 6th to end the game by the ten-run rule.

Jayden Proehl took the loss on the hill for the Trojans working through the first five innings. Carter Pellett came on in the 6th. Brayden Ernst picked up the win, going the distance for Harlan. Ernst kept the ball around the plate and was pretty solid on the mound, limiting Atlantic to 6 hits.

Harlan improved to 17-6 with the two wins. Atlantic drops to 6-14. The Trojans finish out the week with a home game tonight against Lewis Central. That game has been moved up to a 5:30 p.m. first pitch.
