Iowa State softball prepares for the Big-12 Tournament

The Iowa State softball program continues to set new marks under coach Jamie Pinkerton. After suffering key losses off last years team that made it to an NCAA regional Championship round at Missouri the Cyclones take a 27-26 record into Thursday’s start of the Big-12 Tournament in Oklahoma City. ISU is seeded fourth, the highest seed the program has ever had in the tournament.

It has been a difficult spring weather wise and most of their practices have been in the football facility.

Pinkerton feels the inability to practice outside may have kept the Cyclones from peaking earlier.

Pinkerton says they have only had about a dozen practices in their stadium this season.

Iowa State opens Thursday at Noon against Baylor. The Cyclones took two of three from the Bears two weeks ago in Waco.
