GERTRUDE MATTHIES, 100, of Atlantic, died Thursday, April 14th, at the Heritage House, in Atlantic. A Mass of Christian Burial for GERTRUDE MATTHIES will be held 10:30-a.m. Tuesday, April 19th, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Walnut. Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Avoca has the arrangements.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 18th, from 5-until 7-p.m., with a Rosary at 7-p.m.

Burial is in the Layton Township Cemetery in Walnut.

Her Husband – Fred Matthies, of Atlantic.

Her daughter – Darla (Sherman) Snyder, of Walnut.

Her sons – Douglas (Margo) Matthies, of Walnut, & Robert (Verna) Matthies, of Anita.

14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, & her daughter- and sister-in-laws.
