Riverside avenges previous loss to Audubon with 62-58 win Monday

Some good defensive pressure and a big night from Grady Jeppesen pushed Riverside to a 62-58 win over Audubon on Monday night in Oakland. It was a close game through most of the first half and the Bulldogs used a 12-3 run to start the second half to grab a lead. The Bulldogs would have to knock down some free throws late to seal their 10th win of the season.

The Bulldogs went 12 for 16 from the free throw line in the second half and an impressive 10 of 11 in the fourth quarter to maintain the lead. Riverside head coach Nicholas Kroon was proud of the Bulldogs resolve down the stretch.

Coach Kroon said they made some defensive adjustments that helped create some steals and scoring chances in the second half.

Jeppesen finished the game with 30 points and grabbed some big steals in the game. He talked about the impact their defensive effort had on the game.

The Bulldogs also got 12 points from Ayden Salais and 10 from Aiden Bell as they improved to 10-7 on the season.

Audubon’s leading scorer was Carson Bauer with 20 points and Collin Bauer added 15 on five made threes. The Wheelers drop to 5-12 on the season.
