THELMA NELSON, 81, of Elk Horn, died Friday, Jan. 15th, at the Salem Lutheran Home. A Mass of Christian Burial for THELMA NELSON will be held 11-a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21st, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, in Harlan. Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan has the arrangements.

Visitation will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Thursday, from 9-until 11-a.m.

Burial is in the Harlan Cemetery.

THELMA NELSON is survived by:

Her sons – Tim Smith, of Blair, NE; and Todd (Shireen) Smith, of Omaha, NE.

Her daughter – Traci (Mark Haynes) Smith, of Harlan.

Her stepchildren: Janie (Gregory) Valdez, of San Antonio, TX; Jerry Nelson of Destin, FL; and Teresa (Mark) McLaughlin, of Audubon.

Her brothers – Albert (Gay) Schwarte, and Joseph (Vernita) Schwarte, all of Defiance, and Richard (Myrna) Schwarte, of Templeton.

Her sister – Karen (Clarence) Brinker, of Ankeny.

7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and her sister-in-law Glenda Hall, of Defiance.
