An arson incident at Atlantic High School Monday led the arrest of a 15-year-old girl.

Atlantic Police Chief Steve Green says she lit an article and threw it into a trash can in the girl’s restroom which started the trash can on fire.  He says when the APD spoke with juvenile authorities they recommended she be charged with 1^st degree arson.

The girl remains at the Juvenile Detention Center in Council Bluffs until her court appearance.
