Atlantic Highlights…
1st – ReAnn Cappel started the game with a single.  Tiara Edelman moved
her to third with a single then stole second base.  Paige Kennon reached
on a FC scoring Cappel.  Edelman was thrown out trying to advance to
third.  Alisha Hinzmann doubled scoring Kennon.  Liz Metheny singled
scoring Hinzmann.

Comments by Coach Hinzmann…
“Obviously the fifth inning killed us.  They had six hits in that inning,
but in reality two of those hits we gave them with a mental mistake and
not covering a base then lacked aggressiveness in the outfield and allowed
a ball to drop!  We also had our lone error in that inning.  If we ever
hope to complete with the top teams in the conference then we have to stop
making those kinds of mistakes which prolong big innings. Until we become
a more consistent and more mature players those types of inning are going
to continue to happen and we will continue to battle to stay out of last
place in the Hawkeye Ten.”

“On the positive side, we got 10 hits off Schaben, who if she is not the
best pitcher in the conference then she defiantly is one of the best
pitchers in the conference.  With the exception of one hitter, we had only
a single strike out and managed to put runners on base every inning.  I
thought Liz did a great job against a very good hitting team.  She hit her
spots very well and the only really big mistake she made in the circle was
the home run to (Brooke) Schaben.
