Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jeff Danker says one-person suffered minor injuries after being involved in a rollover accident Thursday night on the Old Lincoln Highway, near Crescent. Danker says 25-year old Amanda Jones, of Council Bluffs was trapped in her 2006 Toyota Camry, after the vehicle went out of control and rolled onto its side in a ditch, near the intersection with Sharon Drive. The accident happened at around 10-p.m.

The Sheriff says when a deputy arrived on the scene about 15-minutes after the call was received, Crescent Rescue was working to extricate the woman through the rear window of the car. He says an investigation determined the vehicle was traveling northbound on Old Lincoln Highway, when it ran off the road to the right and hit a mailbox.

The car continued on the east shoulder of the road and across Sharon Drive. Jones tried to regain control of the vehicle, which then crossed onto the left shoulder of the road and hit an embankment before coming to rest on the driver’s side just north of Sharon Drive.

Jones was treated for her injuries and cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
